Congratulations to Hayley Carter (U17), Tatiana Rouru (U17) and Kaleeya Matai (U19) who have been named in the 2015 NZ Girls Development team. Head Coach Carl Tuinenga’s team will attend the International Friendship Championship in Sydney in July this year. He says that working in conjunction with Coach Gettins and the Junior White Sox programme, has been valuable in identifying players for further development at an international level. Hayley, Tatiana and Kaleeya have also been named in the Junior White Sox training squad for the 2017 World Championship in Florida. They are joined by Brooke Glassie (U15) and Pearl-Marli Waetford (U17). Coach Gettins says that identifying players as early as possible who have potential to make the final team is a must in the two year World Championship cycle. Congratulations also to Kalin Felise (U17) and Joseph Kohlhase (Premier Men) on their selection in the wider training squad for the 2016 Junior Mens Championships. A 36 man squad has been identified as part of a wider training group for the 2016 Junior Men’s World Championship in Midland, Michigan, USA. The Temperzone Junior Black Sox management team have named the group in advance of two significant international tournaments this off season. In an unprecedented event, a JBS team will head to Europe to compete in the 2015 European Men’s Super-Cup, August 24-29, in Prague, Czech Republic.
